Day 3: One Busy Day

7/21/2014

The day started as early as 3:30am, where we were all groggy but exhilarated, because of a a very good reason: we were going to Breakfast TV Toronto! It was my first time on a set, and it was beyond cool to go behind the scenes! The hosts and organizers made us feel real comfortable in front of the camera, and thank you for such a great broadcast!

Today marked the day where I officially toured around Toronto downtown after many many many years. Toronto was actually the first Canadian city I have been to (in the year 2000), but it is a vague memory, being that the last time that I visited was probably more than ten years ago. After visiting Downtown, I truly understand why Toronto is one of the most fast-forward Canadian cities! The sights were so beautiful!

We had our delicious breakfast at a lovely park right after at Grenadier Restaurant High Park. Today the sun glowed, and all of us were really cheery for the upcoming activities we were about to do!

We then headed back to our hotel to watch and learn how to do hair! One of Miss Teenage Canada’s sponsors, Schwarzkopf Professional, taught us some helpful tips on hair styling. At the end of the presentation, we had a little contest, where we were split into teams to create either a bun or a braid, and the winning team with the best hairstyle (voted through  our applause) got a prize. Although we didn’t win, we sure had lots of fun creating an avant-garde messy bun! Thank you so much for the amazing gift bags, which contained professional stylists’ must haves, matifying powder & salt spray!

Our lunch was sponsored by Panera Bread. I went spontaneous and chose a “Roasted Turkey & Avocado BLT” sandwich. I loved it and, if I ever get the chance, I will buy a whole box of these sandwiches, because they were so good!

Right after, we went to Bench in Yorkdale Shopping Centre to use our $25 dollar Bench gift card! Although I didn’t have the chance to buy something at the store, I will definitely purchase one of their chic jackets once I return home. Thank you!

I thought this was a great day already, but no, there were more! Yorkdale gave us a VIP package, which contained and a $10 gift card for the food court! Thank you so much and I will for sure to be back and shop at Yorkdale (it was a huge mall with so many good brands)!

The day ended with a hardcore rehearsal with our wonderful choreographer, Shawn, for one of our dance numbers. Although my feet were killing me, I still danced on, because it was such a cute choreo! Everyone was enthusiastic and diligent during our practice, so I bet we will have a great performance!

When I got to the point where it was so difficult to walk, we were again given a surprise, but this time it was High-Tec Shoes! Our sandals finally arrived, and mine were adorable and super comfy! They will definitely save my feet from my killer heels once we start walking around town tomorrow!

Stay tuned,
