Today we went to Anytime Fitness, for our first yoga class and our first weight room training! Our yoga instructor, Danny, welcomed us with a beautiful smile, and doing one hour of yoga actually made me sweat! Danny taught us a variety of poses for stretching and for calming our nerves.
Later on, we had a brief introduction to the machines in the weight room from Tony, the Anytime Fitness manager, who was full of enthusiasm! I have not met many people that have so much positive energy! The orientation, although short, did make me excited in working out for the summer and in getting my body toned for the competition!
We went back to Fairchild Radio after the 2-hour session for our first official nutrition class from Jojo, our nutritionist. We learned to balance our meals with foods from all food groups, which are Milk & Alternatives, Meat & Alternatives, Vegetables & Fruit, and Grain Products. I finally had the chance to put my knowledge from Foods 10 in good use! One healthy snack in particular that was mentioned by Jojo was air-popped popcorn! This was one surprising fact and we will soon be eating plenty of that!
